Native Plant Restoration

Sometimes governmental agencies require property owners to add native (or sometimes non-native) vegetation to their property. There are several names for this--reclamation, restoration, re-forestation, etc.--and the trees and shrubs specified can vary widely (see lists below). We can provide many of the trees/shrubs necessary--we grow some of them ourselves, and work with wholesale growers for many of the rest. The requirements under a government-ordered restoration also can can vary. Sometimes the property owner is required add a number of trees with a certain "caliper" ("caliper" usually means the diameter of the trunk a few inches above ground level, although sometimes governmental caliper definitions can vary--some use "chest height"). At other times, the government will require a specific number of smaller trees or shrubs of a certain height. We can help you either way. Also, we'd be happy to talk with the governmental representative you are working with to be sure that any requirements are met--we have experience in this area and know what has been acceptable in the past.

You may find the tree(s) you are looking for on the alphabetical list of trees we carry. Common trees for restoration are Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, and Vine Maple, but we've seen several others used. Please also see our "Starter Tree" webpage for both native and non-native starter trees.

From our Snohomish, WA location, we deliver and plant trees statewide. We sell retail & wholesale, for residential and commercial projects. We specialize in "Instant Privacy Trees"tm for screening and selected Ornamental & Landscape Trees, as well as "Starter Trees". We also offer Transplanting/Rescue of trees, and our "Cliffhanger" Program (for erosion-control and stability on bluffs, hillsides and riverfront property).

We are a tree farm, not just a nursery. Many of the trees you buy from us have been grown right here in Snohomish at our 60 acre tree farm. Buying directly from a grower gives you fresh trees, great selection, and low prices--you maximize your purchasing power!. More information

We’ll help you determine which trees are right for your project, and provide you with free, no-obligation estimates. This is often accomplished by e-mail and phone. Where necessary, we will send our Arborist out to review the project (no charge). More information

We don’t require any money “up front”—you only pay when the job is completed (unusual exceptions to this are special projects, lengthy “holds” on trees, or Cliffhanger jobs). Be careful of contractors asking for “up front” money.

We don't keep regular retail hours; instead we set up appointments so that we can focus on your project--we look at photos and plans with you, and drive you around the farm and look at the tree options.
