Buy directly from the grower and get the freshest, healthiest trees at the best prices.
No other nursery or landscape company in Western Washington has the quantity, quality and selection of Green Giant Arborvitae that we do.
Sizes & Prices below.
The "Green Giant" Arborvitae is a tall, cylindrical tree that is both taller and wider than the "Emerald Green" Arborvitae. The following is from a U.S. Dept. of Agriculture study of the Green Giant:
"Green
Giant' is a vigorously growing,
pyramidal evergreen with rich green color that remains
outstanding throughout hardiness range.
It has no serious pest or disease problems and has been widely grown and tested
in commercial nursery production. 'Green Giant'
is an excellent substitute for
Green Giants can be left to grow naturally or pruned into a beautiful hedge (see "Hedged Green Giant" section below).
Attributes
Foliage: Evergreen
Mature Height: 40-50 ft.
Mature Width: Approximately 12 ft.; can be hedged much narrower.
Sunlight: full sun; sun/partial shade
Soil:. Widely
adaptable, including wet soil.
Growth Rate: Rapid, up to 2-3' a year after established, depending on growing conditions.
"Instant Privacy" Spacing: May be planted as close together as "4' centers", meaning the trunks of each tree are 4'apart. 5' centers is also a common spacing, and they can be spaced wider than that if "upper screening" isn't as important.
What to Expect the First Year: As with all newly-planted trees, these need to be watered carefully through the first Spring/Summer--see our "Care of Your Trees" section for more details.
Not as much growth the first year because the tree is putting its efforts into its root system.
Comments: A good choice if you simply want a bigger Emerald Green Arborvitae. Maintains its green color all year, although does show "bronzing" as all cedars do in the fall/winter. Growing in popularity as a substitute for Leyland Cypress. May be pruned. Note that these trees tend to fill-in and become more dense as they get older/taller.
This is a common situation--a large house going up next door right on the property line. Here Green Giants have been planted as a privacy screen.
They are fast-growing and over the next few years will totally block that house.
Sizes & Prices
Special Purchase
5-6' Potted Green Giants
When we buy "starter" trees to plant a new crop in our fields we often purchase extra trees to sell to the public. These are nice, healthy trees; and a good size for a homeowner to plant themselves (or we can plant them for you). This is a very good price for this much tree, and these trees can sell-out quickly.
5-6' 7 gallon pot "Starter" Green Giants $54.95 each
Big Green Giants
Please note: Due to the limited number of these trees available and the need for expert planting, we only sell these trees when we are also hired to plant them.
Green Giants
8-10' Green Giant Arborvitae $265.00
10-12' Green Giant Arborvitae $325.00
12-14' Green Giant Arborvitae $395.00
14-16' Green Giant Arborvitae $495.00
"Hedged" Green Giants (See Description Below)
8-10' "Hedged" Green Giants $345.00
10-12' "Hedged" Green Giants $395.00
12-14' "Hedged" Green Giants $445.00
14-16' "Hedged" Green Giants $495.00
16-18' "Hedged" Green Giants $595.00
18-20' "Hedged" Green Giants $695.00
"Hedged" Green Giants are approximately 2' trimmed width. The untrimmed width depends on the size of the tree.
Please note that our supply of trees is constantly changing; please contact us to confirm availability. (1/21/18)
"Hedged" Green Giants
"Hedged" Green Giants at our River Growing Fields. The "Hedged" trees are on Janet's right, "natural" trees to her left.
"Hedged" Green Giants
While many people simply let their Green Giants grow naturally, Green Giants also make a very attractive hedge. Green Giant hedges can be kept to a desired height and width by pruning each year (see "Mature Height" and "Mature Width" notes below). To help people achieve a hedge as fast as possible, each year we prune the sides of some of the Green Giants we are growing. These are our "Hedged" Green Giants. You can see this in the photo above.
Note: When "hedging" trees it is important to start pruning when the trees are small. Stated another way, if you wait to hedge the trees until they are larger, when you trim the trees you will see too much of the brown interior and main branches (see photo below). So if you want a tall hedge your choices are to start with smaller trees and prune them into a hedge as they grow, or use these "pre-hedged" trees which get you a tall hedge much quicker. No matter which way you go you will need to prune the trees each year after they are planted (see pruning notes below).
Trying to prune large trees into a hedge results in dead material and trunks being exposed.
ATTRIBUTES
Foliage: Evergreen
Mature Height: Hedged to desired height; 8' or taller.
Mature Width: Hedged to desired width; 4' minimum, wider is better.
See other "Attributes" --Soil, Sunlight, What to Expect the First Year, etc. --in main section above.
Pruning: Will need to be pruned each year.

We are a registered Washington State contractor (License Number: NURSEL*956J1). More information Be sure to hire a registered contractor -- to go to the Department of Labor & Industries website to check a contractor's registration, click here. As it says there: "Unregistered contractors carry no bond or insurance to protect consumers. Consumers can face serious issues if anything goes wrong on a job." These liability risks are in addition to fraud, poor workmanship, worthless warranties, etc.
Most important of all is what our customers think of us:
"I am really pleased with your work. You saved me several thousand dollars, steered me away from trees that wouldn't work, provided healthy and beautiful trees, did a great job planting them, and did everything on time and on schedule. You can quote me." Jo, Vashon Island
"Our privacy bank of trees has done nothing but grow well into maturity. Our back yard and deck area is totally private and the 10 trees your team planted [in 2005] are rich, leathery and dark green. We remark on them every day it seems. Please include me in any of your "Testimonials" as you would be hard pressed to find a more satisfied customer." Jim, Port Orchard
"For quality vs. value, your trees are the best landscape purchase I’ve ever made." Jeff, Seattle
"Michael, I just wanted to pass along a note to tell you how thrilled I am with the trees. The effect they have brought to our new courtyard in the front of our home here in Seattle has exceeded my expectations!" Chip Hanauer, Hydroplane Driver--Click Here to see his project.
"I work in customer service so I know good service when I experience it and you have my top rating. I would definitely recommend you to anyone who needs new landscaping. Thanks again.” Carol, Camano Island
"By the way, the trees were a great privacy feature when we sold the last house! We now have a much larger space . . " Katherine, Fall City
“My compliments to your crew. We’ve had a lot of contractors working on our house recently and we’ve seen the entire range; and your guys were excellent. The trees make things look so much better—I started smiling as soon as I saw them going in." Holly, Queen Anne
"You guys are the best nursery I've ever done business with! And I have dealt with a few. You did what you said you would, on time with attention to detail rarely found. From the beginning of the quote process all the way through to the last detail you made it easy. And you work to ensure that the trees will thrive after planting with detailed advice, a complementary irrigation system, and a website filled with useful information. Most nurseries will just dump off the goods and tell you best of luck, put some water on them. You provide a quality product that sets you apart. Your crew was friendly, polite and operated as a well organized team. I would recommend you without hesitation! Thanks for doing a great job!” Ryan, Buckley
"We can not believe how beautiful your trees are. The privacy is unbelievable. If you ever need a testimonial let us know. Our yard is perfect! We sit there and say "my oh my”! Suzanne, Tacoma
"I don't think I've ever been as happy with something I've purchased." Sarah, Sammamish
