Jacquemontii Birch, also know as Himalayan Birch, have the whitest bark of the birch family (and their bark peels off to reveal whiter bark each year). They have beautiful heart-shaped dark green leaves, and nice yellow Fall color. Jacquemontii Birch are often planted in a row along a driveway or border.

Foliage: Deciduous, but the beautiful white bark is showy all year round

What to Expect the First Year: As with all newly-planted trees, these need to be watered carefully through the first Spring/Summer--see our "Care of Your Trees" section
for more details. Each year they are growing in our fields these trees leaf-out beautifully; but the first year after digging/planting they are putting their efforts into
establishing their roots. This causes them to have smaller leaves than they usually would. By the second year they should be back to normal.
Disease Issue: Some areas of Western Washington have reported problems with birch borers (insect). We have not had this problem at the nursery.
Comments: Beautiful planted against an evergreen background. Usually pruned up fairly high so as to show off the white trunk.

We don't keep regular retail hours; instead we set up appointments so that we can focus on your project--we look at photos and plans with you, and drive you around the farm and look at the tree options. We don’t require any money “up front”—you only pay when the job is completed (unusual exceptions to this are special projects, lengthy “holds” on trees, or large Restoration jobs). Be careful of contractors asking for “up front” money.
When we plant your trees, we include staking (if necessary), transplanting fertilizer, and an easy-to-use watering system that hooks into your garden hose. More information.
